IVI LOS CABOS ROSTER

Omar Heredia

Hello, I'm Omar HEREDIA

Program Executive, Planning & Events

Biography

Everyone at IVI Destination Management is committed to delivering great customer service, but Omar Heredia abilities in this area are unquestioned. That's because he used to own a company that taught customer service to employees of hotels.

Heredia studied business administration at the Universidad del Valle de Mexico befote starting his career in the hospitality industry.

His first job was in the food and beverage department at the Fiesta Americana Cozumel Reef. Omar then moved to Cabo San Lucas, where he became manager of the Mail Boxes Etc. store there, working closely with both retail and hotel customers. Heredia then became an entrepreneur as the founder and owner of Business Training Solutions, a company specializing in training employees of area hotels in the benefits and techniques of excellent customer service.

Heredia's extensive experience at exceeding customer expectations now is at work at IVI, where he works as Program Executive and major player in the planning and events department.

In his leisure time, Omar enjoys finding restaurants that provide an excellent view along with a great dinner and good wines. Heredia also likes spending time with his six-year-old son, and enjoys reading, camping and other outdoor adventures that abound in the Los Cabos area.

Personal Favorites

Local Attraction -- The beach is my favorite. We have many different kinds of beaches in Los Cabos – be careful, because all of them aren’t safe for swimming. But we have many that are great places for swimming, snorkeling, surfing and others just for fishing from the shore. The water is always warm and clear.

Recreational activity – The terrain in the Los Cabos area is so diverse – we have everything from beaches to hills to desert-like terrain – that there are lots of good places to go camping. Depending of the area, you can swim, hike, climb, snorkel, crash around on ATVs, or just relax and enjoy nature.

Favorite restaurant -- My favorite in Los Cabos is Morgan’s Restaurant and Cellar, a classic grill featuring very good Mediterranean cuisine. It has an elegant atmosphere with painted murals and hand-carved furniture. Its signature breads and pastries are baked fresh daily, and the service at Morgan’s is outstanding.

Local Tour – Everyone I know raves about the Baja Buggies tour, which lets you drive a very fast buggy on a tour deep into the mountains. You go past waterfalls, canyons, and an amazingly beautiful beach. It’s a really scenic expedition that takes you through La Candelaria, one of the oldest towns in the area.

Local Event – An event that I can´t miss is the whale watching, which begins every year at the end of December. Gray Whales are everywhere, and if you’re lucky you can get close enough to touch one of these beautiful animals. This goes on for about three months, before the whales head back north in March.
