Paolina Rodriguez is a talented and hard-working person. Mexico City is where Paolina was born and later studied hotel management. Since her early beginnings, she has been moving up the career ladder rather quickly.
Ms. Rodriguez arrived to Cancun six years ago. Her first job in the hospitality industry was at the front desk of the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach. Later, she became conference concierge for groups and conventions, and was then promoted to conference services manager.
Paolina spent the next three years as a conference services manager at the Marriott. There she earned a service award and was named the hotel’s best manager in 2008. Since IVI Destination Management seeks to hire the best and the brightest, Paolina was recruited to join our company. Ms. Rodriguez says: “Nothing makes me happier than seeing clients with smiling faces, and of course receiving ‘thank you’ notes from clients who feel I helped them conduct a great event.”
In her leisure time, Paolina enjoys spending time with her husband, the family, and her dog. She likes listening to music, socializing with friends over a cup of coffee, and occasionally going to a movie. Her favorite sports are swimming and soccer. Like many Mexico City natives, she is an enthusiastic fan of the local soccer team Las Aguilas of Club America.
Personal Favorites
Local Attraction – Xcaret is an eco-park that has everything! The highlight of the tour is the Xcaret night show, considered by many as Mexico’s show of all shows. 300 performers deliver a magnificent musical summary of Mexico’s history and culture.
Recreational Activity – Spending a day at La Isla shopping mall, ending with a dinner at a nice restaurant overlooking the lagoon.
Restaurant – La Destileria, is an excellent restaurant featuring contemporary Mexican food. It has a deck overlooking the Nichupte Lagoon, so it’s the perfect spot to have a sunset dinner.
Local Tour – For a unique do-it-yourself tour, take the ferry to Isla Mujeres. Rent a golf cart and spend the day exploring the island. Finish your expedition at North Beach and relax at a seafood restaurant overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
Local Event – I enjoy going to Xcaret the first of November for the traditional “Dia de los Muertos” celebration. It’s not gloomy – it’s a lively celebration in behalf of our deceased loved ones.
