Adriana Salinas was born, educated, and began her professional career in Acapulco, the city considered the “grandfather” of tourism in Mexico. She earned a communications and public relations degree from the UAA located in Acapulco. Adriana started her career in the public relations department of Acapulco’s Palladium night club. Later she became a public relations staff member and media coordinator with Acapulco’s convention and visitors bureau. After working in different guest services positions at the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach hotel in Cancun, she joined IVI Destination Management as a program executive for planning and events.
Her solid professional background qualifies her for this position. Among her many skills, two personal traits stand out: her permanently positive attitude, and her ability to be a great listener. These qualities give her the ability to first understand what each client wants, and then ensure that IVI does everything possible to meet or exceed the client’s needs. Four years of demonstrating her exceptional skills were enough to get her promoted to her current position as corporate business development manager.
In her leisure time Adriana enjoys roller skating, reading, playing basketball, and going to the beach. She also enjoys virtually all kinds of music, is a noisy fan of the Pumas in the UNAM soccer league, and is a film lover who admires the work of directors such as Tim Burton, Quentin Tarantino, as well as two accomplished Mexican directors, Guillermo del Toro and Alejandro Gonzales Iñarritu.
Personal Favorites
Local Attraction -- Playa del Carmen, where the local restaurants, shops, and nightclubs interact with visitors blending into an exciting mix of cultures. It provides me with a different experience every time I go there.
Local Activity -- Snorkeling among the reefs or in cenotes are my favorite activities. My IVI associates call me a “mermaid” because I just love the water and its amazing profusion of marine life. I was born and raised on Mexico’s Pacific coast and I settled off the Mexican Caribbean, so the ocean has always been part of my life.
Favorite Restaurant -- Any restaurant with seafood and good steaks is at the top of my list. I do have one preference, but it’s very local, and does not appear on any tourist guides. Next time you visit us, ask me and I’ll share my secret find with you!
Favorite Excursion -- Among all the local activities, I love our canopy tours, zip lines, biking, and swimming.
Local Event -- I am especially fond of spending a leisurely evening while indulging myself with a Mexican private dinner at Hacienda La Esperanza. It’s a very special experience to enjoy a classy, romantic and Mexican atmosphere in this traditional Mexican Hacienda.
